(btba)is organized exclusively for educational and charitable purpose, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizationas under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code, or the corresponding section of any future fedural code.(b)btba strives to bridge te gap between academics and industry in the united states and taiwan and to assist students and professionals in biology-related fiedls. Btba aims to discuss and incubate new ideas regarding science and technology that will benefit basic research or industry applications.(c) the primary activities of btba including but are not limited to :(i) planning and hosting the annual boston taiwanese biotechnology symposium;(ii)planning and hosting academic activities such as seminars and study groups to develop participants profesional knowledge and abilities; (iii) palnning and hosting career events to provide members with information related to careers in the biotechnology-related fields; and (iv) planning and hosting events consistent with article ii (d) to promote interactions among praticipants. (d) btba may , as premitted by law engage in any and all activities in the furtherance of , related to or incidental to these purposes which may be lawfuly carried on by a corporation formed under chapter 180 of the general laws of massachusetts and which are not inconsistent with the corporations qualification as an organization described in section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code or corresponding section of any future tax code.form 990-ez partiii line28 statement of program service accomplishmentsbtba has successfully hosted four annual boson taiwanese biotechnology symposiums(http://btbatw.org/symposium.html)that attracted more than 300 young professionals across the united states each year. We have been much honored to have many respected scientists as the keynote speakers. They shared their visions in biotech development in both the us and taiwan and provided career advice to young professionals. Year (2019), we started a new session where invited start-up companies presented and shared their entrepreneurial stories. Attendees expressed extremely high satisfacion and 100% of them indicated that they will attend the symposium again this year, according to the survey.we have organizaed 20 workshops and panel discussions with speakers and panelists from academic and industry to discuss challenges and opportunities in different career paths.we held a career fair in 2015, which included representatives from participating companies interviewing applicants.we held seven academic seminars where graduate students and researchers presented their research projects and attendees often brought fresh or insightful perspectives. We have organized three annual social events for participants to network in a more casual and recreational setting.
