Fair share support services (fsss) is the award-winning social service arm of the nationally recognized affordable housing nonprofit fair share housing development. Fsss's mission is to improve the health outcomes, quality of life and ability to age in place for all seniors, disabled residents and low-income families who reside in the affordable housing developments managed by fshd. Fsss operates out of northgate ii in the city of camden, an affordable high-rise that is home to some 400 low-income elderly and disabled residents. Fsss addresses the holistic health and social service needs of our northgate ii residents, educates program participants on steps they can make to improve their health and manage chronic illnesses. The goal of our northgate ii program is to reduce the likelihood of inappropriate emergency room utilization and lengthy hospital stays and alleviate or forestall nursing home placement.
