FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

The organization is dedicated to selecting charities within the houston area to provide necessary construction services, funding and equipment based on the particular organizations charitable needs. Hcic identifies and assists charitable organizations in need of construction services.

Form 990, Page 1, Part I, Line 6

Volunteers include architects, engineers and construction contractors all who donate their time and expertise to design and construct new facilities for local organizations in need. Other volunteers include staffing to host the annual auto show which serves as the fundraiser for the organization. Those volunteers register vehicles for the show, collect gate fees, sell merchandise, park cars and manage the silent auction. There are usally three to four bands per day who donate their time entertaining the guests who are visiting the show. Accounting and bookkeeping services are also completely donated.

In 2013/2014 architects, engineers, and construction contractors volunteered time, materials and expertise to totally renovate the kitchen facility at the us vets center at midtown terrace in down town houston texas. The us vets facility currently houses over 500 veterans in a refurbished hotel. Houston construction industry charities completely renovated the kitchen from the original hotel, which was not functional. The kitchen is now complete and is used to serve the residents of the facility freshly prepared hot meals on a daily basis. In 2014-2019 the organization hosts a fundraising event and accepts contributions to sustain the monthly cost of the kitchen. The organization also provided a van to transport the us vets to doctors appointments and other functions. The vision moving forward within the next two to three years is to secure a new property location and construct a new facility in the houston area to house and provide meals, therapy and back to work programs for local veterans in need.

THOSE VOLUNTEERS REGISTER VEHICLES FOR THE SHOW, COLLECT GATE FEES, SELL MERCHANDISE, PARK CARS AND MANAGE THE SILENT AUCTION. THERE ARE USALLY THREE TO FOUR BANDS PER DAY WHO DONATE THEIR TIME ENTERTAINING THE GUESTS WHO ARE VISITING THE SHOW. ACCOUNTING AND BOOKKEEPING SERVICES ARE ALSO COMPLETELY DONATED.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt2IN 2013/2014 ARCHITECTS, ENGINEERS, AND CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS VOLUNTEERED TIME, MATERIALS AND EXPERTISE TO TOTALLY RENOVATE THE KITCHEN FACILITY AT THE US VETS CENTER AT MIDTOWN TERRACE IN DOWN TOWN HOUSTON TEXAS. THE US VETS FACILITY CURRENTLY HOUSES OVER 500 VETERANS IN A REFURBISHED HOTEL. HOUSTON CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY CHARITIES COMPLETELY RENOVATED THE KITCHEN FROM THE ORIGINAL HOTEL, WHICH WAS NOT FUNCTIONAL. THE KITCHEN IS NOW COMPLETE AND IS USED TO SERVE THE RESIDENTS OF THE FACILITY FRESHLY PREPARED HOT MEALS ON A DAILY BASIS. IN 2014-2019 THE ORGANIZATION HOSTS A FUNDRAISING EVENT AND ACCEPTS CONTRIBUTIONS TO SUSTAIN THE MONTHLY COST OF THE KITCHEN. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDED A VAN TO TRANSPORT THE US VETS TO DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS AND OTHER FUNCTIONS. THE VISION MOVING FORWARD WITHIN THE NEXT TWO TO THREE YEARS IS TO SECURE A NEW PROPERTY LOCATION AND CONSTRUCT A NEW FACILITY IN THE HOUSTON AREA TO HOUSE AND PROVIDE MEALS, THERAPY AND BACK TO WORK PROGRAMS FOR LOCAL VETERANS IN NEED.
