“10bitworks is a non-profit, membership-supported project space and learning center concept known as a hackerspace. 10bitworks is located in san antonio, texas as a garage-lab environment where hobbyists get together to make their own creations whether practical, experimental, or just for fun. Those hobbyists mentor each other and others in the domains of engineering, science, design and art.”

In 2020, several welding classes were held teaching a total of 27 students in the utsa engingeering dept. The organization held a wood flag making class for veterans and first responders. The organization design and produced personal protective equipment for front line wokers caring for covid-19 patients. Produced approximately 50 face shields and coordinated with multiple people/groups in efforts to get to locally produced,ppe approved with local hospitals and disseminate this information among designers and makers. The organization assisted in fabricating parts for a ventilator being desgined by canopener labs. The organization offered their meeting space free of charge to other organizations throughout the year.”
