“Robert E Powell is President of the Museum and a member of board of directors. Jonathon E Powell is Vice President of Museum and a member of board of directors. Carolyn R Powell is Secretary of Museum and a member of board of directors. In addition, there are four independent members of the board of directors.”

“Copy of Form 990 is available to all members of the board of directors. In addition to the President, three other directors (Jonathon Powell, Greg Madaris, Amanda Snead) have finance or accounting backgrounds.”

“The Museum has a written Conflict of Interest Policy. The policy is reviewed annually at board meeting and each director is required to acknowledge reviewing the policy by completing and signing a Conflict of Interest Information Form. No director reported any conflict of interest in calendar 2024 or in any prior year.”

“The Museum does not compensate any officer or director. Currently, the Museum does not have any full-time employees. If the Museum compensated any officers or directors in the future, the Museum would perform a formal review and approval process.”

Interested public parties are aware non-profit information is readily available to the public domain and therefore would request a copy of Form 990 by making a written request to the Museum by email or postal service. Also, the Museum has written business policies including Conflict of Interest Policy, Gift Acceptance Policy, Whistleblower Policy and other routine business policies. These policies are available to the public upon written request to the Museum.”

“General Information - The Mustang Museum of America entity was incorporated in 2014 but did not open for business to the public until March 2019. The principals who started the Museum were unable to find a suitable existing facility to house the Museum showroom (adequate space for 120 vehicles and other Mustang memorabilia) during property searches between 2015 and 2017. Therefore, the decision was made to build a Museum facility in Odenville, Alabama where one of the principals owned property. A building was designed, permits obtained, building contractor proposals evaluated and, in early 2018, a contractor was selected and building construction began in July, 2018. Construction was completed in February 2019 and the Museum opened to the public in March 2019. From an operating standpoint with support coming from the public (revenue from showroom admissions, merchandise sales, memberships, contributions), the Museum has been in operation 5+ years at 12/31/24. 2019 was a partial year and startup so public support would be lower than a normal full year. Then 2020 and 2021 were dramatically negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Museum was required by the State of Alabama to close during the normal peak tourist travel season in 2020. Also the mandatory restricted travel and other pandemic measures caused public support to be well below expected levels. In summary, early years of construction, startup, 2 years of the effect of pandemic measures, significantly reduced expected attendance and revenue. 2022 and 2023 were recovery years with positive growth in attendance and revenue but were still below business plan. 2024 had increased attendance and revenue primarily from a major Mustang event in April 2024. The Museum has a very limited marketing/advertising budget but is very proactive in the following activities: (1) Social Media - active website, active on Facebook, active on Google Business, active eBay store with Museum merchandise for sale, (2) Attending and having Museum display at Mustang car shows, (3) Attend show at Talladega Speedway to show Museum's Bobby Allison's replica race car, (4) Attend Alabama Welcome Centers "Tourism Day" events at I-20 and I-59 state welcome centers, (5) Make Museum presentation to local organizations, (6) Active member of Odenville Chamber of Commerce, (7) Purchase ad in national US Today car hobby publication, (8) Sponsor car shows in local communities, (9) Provide Museum give-away items to several Mustang shows, (10) Had Museum vehicle on display at World of Wheels in Birmingham, (11) Support local "National Mustang Day" cruise-in in conjunction with Birmingham Mustang Club, (12) Use rack card displays at all Alabama Welcome Centers, (13) Have rack card display at Birmingham Airport, (14) Had visit from Editor of Mustang Times for article on Museum, (15) Worked with publisher of "Unbridled Mustang" book to have Museum information in book, (16) Have local advertising where affordable, (restaurants, softball and baseball fields, high school sports programs, etc., (17) Listed with Alabama Tourism Department for publication in annual Vacation Guide and part of Alabama "One Pass" discount attendance for attractions in Alabama. Based on 2024 and outlook for 2025, Museum management is optimistic public support will continue to grow in future years.”
