Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 28

A highlight of our program in 2019 was the scientific meeting, air pollution harms reproductive health held at the natural history museum, university of utah on june 1. Following outstanding speaker's presentations, we held a session for the public followed by a dinner that allowed the public to interact with the scientific community. The speakers from many us universities and institutes were international in scope and presenting information on the impact of air pollution on sperm health, maternal health, fertility, pregnancy and birth and other related topics. The community session increased public awareness of the issues involved. Many political leaders in the salt lake valley attended. As a result, the campion fund president was invited to attend the utah legislature clean air caucus meetings as an interested observer. The campion fund published monthly educational blogs on topics pertaining to reproductive science, and emphasized in a series of five blogs the impact air pollution has on reproductive health. These blogs continue to be accessed by a growing international audience. As we hired third sun to redesign our website, assist us with the start of monthly newsletters and manage the new site have been able to expand our educational efforts. In addition, third sun has set up excellent tracking mechanisms for analysis of the impact of our educational efforts. We gave two campion presentation awards at the triangle consortium for reproductive biology at its annual meeting at niehs in north carolina. Rong li of niehs was given the award for her presentation of lif (leukemia inhibiting factor) regulation of the uterine window of receptivity in gestation, which provides further understanding of infertility. Rose schrott, duke university won for her poster presentation on the epigenetic effects on sperm by cannabis use. Both young scientists have published their work and continue to be active in the field of reproductive science.
