“1)we're fundraising so that sose's women ngo can support 388 displaced people currently living in and around goris for 6 months. Sose's women's mission is to amplify and strengthen the role of women in public and political life, specifically in armenia's southern syunik province. According to their needs assessment, the most immediate needs of displaced people are bedding and linen, as well as hygiene products; shelter and nutrition has already been secured through other aid programs. Most of these products will be made in armenia so that money donated to this project is injected into the local economy. 2) before the second artsakh war began on september 27, 2020, there were an estimated 9,000 disabled veterans in armenia from previous wars, including the first artsakh war (1988-1994). That number has sharply increased. According to unofficial data, there are about 8,000 injured soldiers from this year's war. To meet the needs of soldiers injured during this year's war and ensure that they receive the quality care they deserve, we're fundraising $189,360.00 for the homeland defender's rehabilitation center so that they can furnish and equip a new, 4-floor wing of their center that is currently being remodeled. The center will be able to support an additional 300 veterans per month, all free of charge, with this equipment. 3)he insurance foundation for servicemen, also known as 1000+, was created to alleviate the economic hardship many families face when a soldier is injured or killed in combat. They do this by providing monetary compensation to soldiers who sustain injuries while in combat and now live with disability, or to eligible family members of soldiers either killed in combat or declared missing. Using in-kind donations and 1,000 amd donated every month from the income salaries of every registered worker in armenia (hence the nickname 1000+), the foundation supports military families who have suffered losses first with an upfront lump sum, then with monthly disbursements for 20 years. The final number of killed, missing and disabled soldiers is still being determined following the 2020 artsakh war. Officially 2,966 soldiers were killed in the war, and there are an estimated 8,000 injured soldiers according to unofficial data. Given the sharp increase of military families now in need of support, we decided together with armeniafund and hayastanallarmeniafund to have our first transfer of $932,892 sent to armeniafund to be donated to 1000+. The life of every armenian soldier is invaluable, but funds provided by 1000+ help alleviate the economic challenges many military families face. 4)armenian wounded heroes fund (awhf) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving, supporting and empowering armenia's wounded soldiers. Their past programs include funding combat casualty care capabilities through advanced first-aid kits and training, upgrading front-line infrastructure, and physical and mental rehab for wounded soldiers. 5)hikearmenia is an ongoing project which is working towards boosting the tourism industry in armenia by making the beautiful hiking trails that exist all over the country more accessible to tourists. In 2015, the 1a community donated $25,527 to help fund the creation of an app which would make hiking easier for everyone. The app details specific trails including their gps coordinates, what hikers can expect to see, other users' comments and recommendations. In addition to the trails themselves, the app connects tourists with local guides (if they do not wish to hike alone) as well as local accommodation (to help stimulate the local economies). 6)we partnered with wineworks to give grape growing families viticulture trainings, access to a modern winemaking facility, marketing and branding coaching, and a winecubean elegant tasting room built directly in their vineyards.
