The president&ceo and the cfo review the form 990. The completed form 990 is presented to the audit committee and the executive committee of the board of directors for their review prior to filing with the irs.

Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Board members are required to annually sign the conflict of interest statements. Any conflict, even one that appears like a potential conflict of interest, must be reported to the president&ceo and board chair. These documents are kept on file.

Part VI, Section B, Line 15

Goodwill industries of san antonio uses survey data presented by an independent third party, werling associates, inc., who gathers information from various survey sources, encompassing industries including for profit, not-for-profit and government industries. Additionally, all executive compensation plans of the corporation are reviewed by the human resources committee. Minutes and supporting documentation are to be kept on file. The compensation review is performed annually. The most recent compensation review occurred in march 2014.

Through contracting opportunities with the government, we provide training and employment to hundreds of individuals, many of whom have a significant disability and otherwise may have difficulty finding a job. Part III, Line 4A

The goodwill contract services operation is the fourth largest in the north american goodwill family. Under the ability one program, goodwill contract services operates 17 contracts with the federal government. Through these contracts, goodwill contract services trains and employs more than 400 individuals, of whom more than 75% have significant disabilities or barriers to employment, individuals who otherwise may have had difficulty finding employment. Additionally, goodwill contract services provides employment opportunities to veterans, with 73 veterans currently employed, including 47 service-disabled veterans. Services provided via these contracts include grounds maintenance/landscaping, administrative and document management services, hvac, custodial services, base wide recycling and heavy equipment operations. As such, goodwill contract services currently has a presence on every military installation in san antonio as well as at laughlin afb in del rio, and our team members have repeatedly been recognized by the military for accuracy and quality performance in the services provided.

Part IX Lines 7 & 9

The Service Contract Act provides for the Secretary of Labor to establish minimum wage and fringe benefit requirements for "service employees", defined as individuals that are not classified as executive, administrative or professional per Title 29, Part 541 of the Code of Federal Regulations and who work on service contracts performed for the federal government. The wage rates and fringe benefit levels are published in the annual Wage Determination and reflect the prevailing rate for similar work being performed in a specific locality. Goodwill Contract Services follows these guidelines in determining wage and benefit rates for its service contract workers.

Part IX Line 17

Travel expenses per part ix line 17 includes the costs to operate the vehicles and equipment used to perform the contracted groundskeeping and maintenance services for the federal government. The most significant costs include fuel, repairs and maintenance, registration fees and vehicle tracking systems.
