“Chappy's Outdoors (CO) has several categories of expenses not listed. Our 1st category is Travel. CO pays for food, fuel, airfare, and hotel fees for our wounded veterans, and occasionally our staff, to attend our outdoor events, retreats, expos, and speaking engagements. Our 2nd category is Support. CO pays for gear to outfit our wounded veterans properly for the environment or excursion they are attending to include considerations revolving around their specific medical requirements. CO also covers licensing and other supporting products to cover our wounded veterans hunting and fishing legally by the local state's guidelines. Out-of-state license costs for our wounded veterans often ranges several hundred dollars for one license. Supporting products can include our shirts and hats to promote our organization, fishing or hunting supplies, and small patriotic gifts of appreciation for their sacrifice for our nation. Our Support category was expanded in 2019 to support our Outfitters, guides, and locations that are hosting our veteran's events. These costs include, but are not limited to, lodging assistance for handicap accessibility, blinds/ stands for handicap personnel, and other equipment to support in like fashion. Our last category is Administrative Expenses. In previous years this section covered recurring equipment to support in like fashion. Our last category is Administrative Expenses. In previous years this section covered recurring includes online royalty free music, website management, drop box, and accounts on YouTube and Vimeo for posting our videos.”

“Exotic species hunt near Leakey, Texas at Rhino Outdoor Adventures. This hunt took place over 2 weeks of the month of February 2021 this year as the 5th annual J.R. Memorial hunt. The hunt benefitted 4 veterans with a hunt of a lifetime for exotic species game. We covered their lodging, meals, travel, licensing, hunt costs, and other expenses. This year we were able to conduct ministry with 4 of our staff being able to attend. The event was blessed with morning and evening devotions before and after the hunting trips and campfire ministry. The veterans enjoyed stories of how the event came to be named after Jeromye Rogers (JR Memorial Hunt).”

“Exotic species hunt near Leakey, Texas at Rhino Outdoor Adventures. We returned to Rhino's this year in October since he was willing to still host our veterans during the COVID pandemic. We were able to host 3 veterans for a weekend of hunting hogs and exotic species game. We were able to cover their lodging, meals and other expenses. This year we were able to conduct ministry with 1 of our staff being able to attend. The event included a blessing of sharing Christ with the veterans through morning and evening devotions. Though the hunt was shorter this time, the veterans enjoyed their time away and focused on relaxation and renewal of strength in God's creation.”

“Bear hunt near Catskill, NY with our NWTF Chapter that typically hosts only our annual turkey hunt. We were able to host 3 veterans for a weekend of hunting bear and fishing. We were able to cover their lodging, meals, travel, licensing, and some hunt costs in what we hope to be an annual new event in the area. The event was able to include 2 of our staff members presenting devotions with a local pastor for each day of the trip. Though few bears were harvested, the time away and focus on God was considered invaluable by those in attendance. We anticipate a return trip annually from this event.”

“Louisburg, North Carolina deer and turkey hunts. This year again proved difficult to host as many veterans as we have in the past. However, we were still able to do both the spring turkey hunt and fall deer hunt with low cost to our veterans due to local farmers and game wardens covering funds for licensing, lodging, meals, and such. Overall, the two events hosted 10 total veterans this year alone. The location has a wonderful Church on site and the pastor runs the ministry opportunities for both events. Total cost = $1155.20”

“Illinois deer hunt. We were blessed to send 2 veterans back to one of our favorite spots this year in Illinois for a chance to hunt some giant whitetail deer. Though they were unsuccessful, the veterans spoke very highly of their retreat in the Illinois woods. The host was able to offer ministry devotions both morning and evening for each day of the 5-day hunting trip. We were able to cover all costs for the veterans this year, which included travel, meals, and their licensing. Total cost for this trip was $1125.11”

“New Kentucky Deer hunt. This year we were able to send 2 veterans to enjoy a deer hunt in Kentucky at a pastor friend's home property. The cost to get these two veterans on this hunt was worth the ministry effort. The partnership with the other non-profit outdoor ministry programs will prove beneficial for years to come. Cost covered travel, licensing, and meals. Total cost for event was $961.93”

“Elk hunt for 2022 investment. Our restart of our Elk hunt program in Idaho went well in 2021, but will remain a very large undertaking to get going completely. We need investors, locations for the veteran's lodging, staging before the hunt, an outfitter with horses, and so much more. This year 1 staff member went with 1 veteran to attempt to hunt with an outfitter and we learned they cannot be trusted to help our program as they left our men stranded in the mountains without support to return on time. With no food, they hiked out a grueling 7.5 miles with all their gear that was supposed to go on horseback! We did meet a new outfitter at a church in Idaho that is likely to be more trustworthy. If our New Mexico Elk outfitter doesn't work out in 2023, we will attempt to use the new one in Idaho for a future restart of this program in the western half of the U.S. Total cost this season was = $778.89”
