PROVIDING YOUNG PEOPLE WITH THE TOOLS TO THINK CRITICALLY, SOLVE PROBLEMS, USE INFORMATION, INTERACT WITH OTHERS, AND WORK AS A TEAM ARE ALL ELEMENTS CRITICAL TO THEIR ROLES AS PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS OF THE WORKFORCE AND COMMUNITY. VOLUNTEERS ARE A VITAL SOURCE OF INSPIRATION AND MOTIVATION FOR YOUNG PEOPLE. THESE CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERS HELP YOUNG PEOPLE BETTER UNDERSTAND ECONOMIC CONCEPTS AS A FIRST STEP IN MAKING A SUCCESSFUL TRANSITION FROM SCHOOL TO WORK. DURING THE 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR, OVER 2,165 VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED 55,437 SOUTH DAKOTA STUDENTS THE MUCH-NEEDED LINK BETWEEN WHAT STUDENTS LEARN IN SCHOOL AND THE BUSINESS WORLD.STUDENT IMPACT: 55,437 STUDENTS REACHED IN 2023-24.
