To ensure that the organization is operating in a manner consistent with its charitable purposes and does not engage in activities that could jeopardize its status as an organization exempt from federal income tax, periodic reviews shall be conducted by such persons as the board shall designate, in its sole discretion. The periodic reviews shall, at a minimum, address whether transactions and arrangements into which the organization enters are reasonable and the result of arm's-length bargaining, conform to written policies, are properly recorded, reflect reasonable payments for goods and services, further the organization's charitable purposes and do not result in a conflict of interest.”

“Compensation for the organization's executive director is reviewed and approved by the governing board annually. The compensation is compared to, and in line with, the nonprofit association of the midlands' salary service. The governing board keeps meeting minutes to document the discussions. The organization has no other compensated officers or key employees.”

“The organization makes available to the public, upon request, its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements.”
