“Founded in the spring of 2012 by young singing professionals, opera in the rock is arkansas's only professional opera company and is a designated professional company member of opera america. The principal purpose of opera in the rock is the production of main stage professional opera, a continuing opera review series (opera on the rocks) and outreach performances throughout the state. The corporation fosters and promotes opera as both entertainment and education and gives local and regional performers the opportunity to use their talents and further their artistic careers. Our efforts support the state's artistic communities by collaboration with other arts organizations both onstage and behind-the- scenes while providing mentorship and performance opportunities for young opera singers and arts professionals. Opera in the rock seeks to enrich the cultural life of arkansas through professional opera performances emphasizing collaboration and diversity to build future audiences for this rich art form.”
