Mission

We are a nonprofit that alleviates poverty around the world through market based solutions, with local teams in more than 11 countries, we create oppurtunities for people to lift themselves out of poverty through their own work and talent as income producing activities, allowing them to take charge of their own development and transform the fabric of their own communities.

To elevate people from poverty to prosperity in the most underserved regions of the world.

Codespa is exempt from the payment of income taxes on its exempt activities under the provisions of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Under these provisions, no tax is imposed on any income related to codespa's tax-exempt purpose. Codespa has determined that it does not have any material unrecognized tax benefits or obligations as of december 31, 2022 and 2021. Codespa is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. Codespa's federal and state income tax returns are subject to examination by the internal revenue service and state tax authorities, generally for a period of three years after the returns are filed.

AS WE MOVE INTO PHASE 2, OUR OBJECTIVES ARE CLEAR: WE WILL STRENGTHEN 15 SAVINGS AND CREDIT GROUPS TO ACCELERATE THE CREATION OF 100 INNOVATIVE ENTERPRISES AND ENHANCE THE VIABILITY OF 300 EXISTING ONES. ADDITIONALLY, WE PLAN TO ESTABLISH A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE FOR THE FORMAL COMMERCIALIZATION OF PRODUCTS FROM THESE ENTREPRENEURS AND REINFORCE THE ONLINE SALES PLATFORM "HUARAL EMPRENDE." CODESPA AMERICA IS IMPLEMENTING THREE MAIN COMPONENTS OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AIMED TO INCLUDE FINAL BENEFICIARIES IN FURTHER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND QUALITY LIFE IMPROVEMENT: FOR 300 BENEFICIARIES IN PERU, THROUGH CERTIFICATION, COMMERCIAL CONNECTIONS AND ALLIANCES WITH THE PUBLIC SECTOR. 2) STRENGTHENING OF A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE IN BOLIVIA(KURMI), FOR THE COMMERCIALISATION OF BENEFICIARIES' PRODUCTS; 3) IMPROVEMENT FOR MARKET ACCESS FOR 400 BENEFICIARIES IN BOLIVIA, THROUGH PRODUCT STANDARDIZATION, COMMERICAL CONNECTIONS AND ALLIANCES WITH THE PUBLIC SECTOR. MAIN OUTPUTS OF THEPROJECT WILL BE: 100 BENEFICIARIES, WOMEN TEXTILE ARTISANS CERTIFIED INLABOR COMPETENCIES BY THE LABOR MINISTRY OF PERU AND INTEGRATED INTO KURMI;90% OF THE BENEFICIARIES OF KURMI HAVE IMPROVED THEIR CAPACITIES TO MEET EXPORT STANDARDS, DOUBLING THEIR PRODUCTIVE CAPACITY. 400 INDIGENOUS WOMEN HAVE INCREASED BY 30% THEIR INCOME RELATED TO HANDICRAFTS AND TEXTILE PRODUCTION.
