“The governing documents and the Trial Balance for the year ending December 31, 2013 were available to the public upon request. They were provided in support of grant applications when required. No one in the general public requested copies during the year. The organization does not have a formal written, Conflict of Interest Policy. However, no managers, officers or directors have received compensation in their capacity as officers or directors, but two officers have received compensation for hourly work on programs; such compensation has not exceeded $1,000/year. “Saguache Works follows a modified Cash Basis method of accounting under which Grants Received for incomplete programs should be Deferred to the subsequent year and reported as Temporarily Restricted Fund Balance. For the year ending December 31, 2013, $25,777 of Grant Revenue from Governmental Agencies was included in Total Revenues rather than being reflected as a Deferred Revenue Liability. When computed as a proportion of total program expenditures, the unaccrued 2013 Deferred Revenues by Program are: Fiber Arts $6,480, Internship Program $5,604, Fitness Program $7,162, and Community Event $6,531. These programs were completed in 2014. All expenses for programs are booked as incurred. This overstates revenue in 2013 and understates it in 2014 but the inception to date for the organization is correct as of 12-31-2014. An amended Form 990-EZ for 2013 has not be filed and the accelerated revenues reported in 2013 have been excluded from the 2014 return.”

SAGUACHE WORKS SIGNED A TRIPLE NET LEASE WITH BASE RENT AT $1,500/MONTH, ANNUAL ESCALATION AT 3%, PLUS 2% OF ALL REVENUES GREATER THAN $50,000 PER YEAR. THE LEASE ALSO ASSESSED THE PRO-RATA SHARE OF REAL PROPERTY TAXES, INSURANCE, UTILITIES, CAM, AND GENERAL BUILDING REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE. IN 2014, IN ORDER TO BENEFIT THE GROWING NONPROFIT, BEBOP REDUCED RENT TO $1,000/MONTH ($12,000), WAIVED THE ESCALATION AND PERCENTAGE RENT, WAIVED THE PROMO FUND FEE OF $2,400, AND MADE AN IN-KIND CONTRIBUTION OF THE PRORATA TAXES, INSURANCE, UTILITIES, CAM, AND GENERAL REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE.
