“New Visions for Public Schools (NVPS) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting public schools and helping start and manage charter schools. Pursuant to the terms of the Educational Services Agreement by and between the School and NVPS, it provides educational management, operational, and fundraising services to the School. Cynthia Rietscha, COO until 4/30/2024, who is listed in Part VII, was compensated by NVPS. Starting 5/1/2024, Kisis Cruz, Director of Finance and Administration, took over as the top financial official and WAS also compensated by NVPS.”

“Upon acceptance of employment, employees sign acknowledging receipt of and compliance with the employee guidelines which states explicitly that employees cannot engage in activities which present a conflict of interest for the school. Potential/real conflicts are reviewed by the ceo and principal of the school and the director of finance of the charter management organization (cmo) and resolved. Employees are not permitted to continue activities that pose a real conflict. Before each board election, board members are asked to disclose any potential/real conflict that may impact their governance role. Board members with a real conflict will not be permitted to assume a board role. All conflicts are handled on a case by case basis.”

IN DETERMINING COMPENSATION, THE BOARD AND CMO WILL REFER TO PUBLISHED SALARY SURVEYS AND INDEPENDENT RESEARCH AS DEEMED NECESSARY.”
