“Farmer's market uptown hosted a twice-monthly farmer's market with an average of two dozen vendors selling fresh fruit and locally produced goods. Uptown participated in the federal snap program to provide fresh produce to qualifying recipients. Uptown uncorked uptown hosted its annual fundraiser, uptown uncorked, at the oklahoma history center. The event drew 400 attendees, and net proceeds increased 11% over the previous year. Open streets festival uptown hosted its third annual open streets festival in uptown. More than 20,000 people visit uptown during this event, which closes nw 23rd street for a day and celebrates walking and healthy lifestyles. About 40 food vendors and dozens of businesses offered healthy food options and family-friendlly activities. Uptown partners with the oklahoma city and county health department to plan the event. Other key accomplishments and activities uptown participated in oklahoma city university homecoming activities, hosted a december holiday party for uptown members, and hired a new executive director. Monthly board meetings and quarterly member meetings were held. There was significant growth of social media platforms, such as facebook, twitter and instagram, being used by uptown followers. This marketing activity supports the strength of the uptown 23rd brand as an oklahoma city destination. The social media marker see23 was put in place. Uptown continued working with visitokc and adventure road to promote uptown 23rd as a destination for visitors to the area. The www.uptown23rd.com website was redesigned with increased functionality and will be rolled out in the first quarter of fiscal year 2018. Bookkeeping activities were converted to quickbooks online, streamlining financial reporting for the association. Each quarter the group cleans up the district.”
