“The goldlab foundation (glf) was proud to host our first virtual goldlab symposium, our 12th annual event in may 2020, after the pandemic forced us to cancel the symposium in may 2019. Seventeen incredible speakers, including two nobel laureates, spoke over the course of two days. We had a very small group of presenters, in accordance with local regulations, join us in person at etown hall in boulder and the majority of speakers and audience participated virtually. The symposium was livestreamed on the goldlab foundation website and the audience was able to ask questions through slido, an online engagement platform. In total, over 1,000 participants attended the symposium. The virtual format allowed us to double our audience. Although the pandemic has created many challenges, the glf is using this time to build our audience. We plan to include a livestreaming component to our symposia going forward. Unfortunately, this conference was canceled due to travel restrictions and safety concerns related to covid-19. The rocky conference will resume again next year, december 2-4, 2021.
