We empower food service programs and school districts to make food delicious, nourishing, and responsible through our evidence-based certification program. We provide education and support that inspires students, schools, and communities to value real food.

Transform the food industry and the food systems to reduce diet related diseases and environmental impact by performing REAL certifications of food service providers, including K-12 school programs and providing educational activities.

The finance and accounting team reviews all numbers, and then a copy is circulated to internal management, and then to the board of directors.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Annually, each board member shall be required to review a copy of this Policy and to acknowledge in writing that he or she has done so and complete a disclosure form identifying any relationships, positions, or circumstances in which the person is involved that he or she believes could contribute to a Conflict of Interest arising, submitting the form to the Chairman of the Board, or such other party as designated by the Chairman.

The process for determining compensation is as follows: The Nonprofit shall through its executive committee enter into a Contract with the CEO that sets forth annual compensation and benefits for the term of the Contract. The Contract may specify (1) a base salary, (2) a benefits package, (3) an incentive payment range to be assessed yearly and (4) other terms and conditions of employment.

The Organization is recognized as a public charity exempt from Federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, whereby only unrelated business income, as defined by the Internal Revenue Code, is subject to income tax. Management believes that all the Organizations income was directly related to its exempt purpose; thus, the accompanying financial statements do not include any provision for income taxes.
