Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The josh anderson foundation (jaf)'s mission is to provide adolescents with the mental health education, resources and support so that they will never turn to suicide. Suicide is the third leading cause of death among those age 15-24 years old. In an effort to prevent suicide among adolescents, the josh anderson foundation promotes mental wellness programs and campaigns in schools and the community that reduce risk factors among youth, increase accessibility to mental health resources, promote help-seeking behaviors, increase self-efficacy and decrease symptoms of depression, anxiety, suicidology and other mental health issues in adolescents. These efforts and initiatives are not only intended to reach those previously identified as at risk and receiving mental health services, but all adolescents in schools and the community. The josh anderson foundation also provides education, resources and training to equip adults with skills and tools to help youth never turn to suicide.
