“Minds interrupted: stories of lives affected by mental illness is a combination of writing workshops and community monologue performances presented in a professional theatre setting to help erase the stigma and stereotypes surrounding mental illness. Each presentation features individuals from within their local community who share their heartfelt story of pain, confusion, humor and resilience of the impact of mental illness - either as someone with an illness or as a family member. “Breaking the silence new mexico is a stigma-busting curriculum confronting the myths that reinforce the silence in new mexico about mental illness. It is offered in upper elementary, middle and high schools, and includes personal stories,information, resources, and warning signs of mental illness. “Inside out art exhibition: an event that gives those in our community, who are challenged daily by mental illness or a mental disorder, an opportunity and a venue for sharing their art, professionally framed, and exhibited in an art gallery setting. One-hundred percent (100%) of the sales of the work go directly to the artists. “Photovoice: "untold mind" is a photovoice project that is a ground-breaking approach to sharing photos and telling stories to change community perceptions of individuals living with mental illness. In 2014, five participants took hundreds of photos, selected two of their choice, and wrote 150-word stories that reflected on how these photos speak to their life living with mental illness.
