Mission

Fork Food Lab is a nonprofit food business incubator and shared commercial kitchen focused on growing the local food economy. We support the growth of sustainable Maine-based businesses by providing entrepreneurs with work space, equipment, and other resources.

To explore the nexus of human activity, sustainability, technology and the natural environment through action, research and education, including but not limited to internships, seminars, courses and workshops.

The new england food system innovation challenge is an annual event that is open to enterprise and college teams with idea stage and very early stage enterprises that would improve the production, aggregation, distribution and processing of locally produced and harvested seafood. The weekend event provides mentoring and technical assistance to teams and culminates in a pitch contest with winners receiving cash awards for the enterprises and technical assistance.
