Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8B

There are no other committees that may act on behalf of the full board of directors.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

Information required to complete the federal form 990 is collected by the finance department, treasurer, and finance committee, and sent to our public accounting firm. Once a draft of the form is prepared, it is shared with the board of directors. Any questions or concerns are addressed with the preparers. After the board confirms the accuracy of the form, it is promptly filed with the internal revenue service.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Kid museum has a written conflict of interest policy that has been given to each board member and each employee. Employees and board members are required to read and sign a statement in the beginning of each year signifying that they have read and understood the policy. The copy of the signed statement by employees will be maintained with the employment records.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

The process for determining compensation for the executive director includes the following: review and approval by independent persons, comparability data, and contemporaenous substantiation of the deliberation and decision.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

Kid museum makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public.
