Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11B

The board will conduct a thorough review of the Form 990 prior to filing.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12C

The Organization confirms this through email with the board members.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15

The CEO compensation is set based on a pay analysis carried out by human resource staff using the software "payscale", which data was presented to the board for review. CEO salary is set based on discussions with board members, their review of comparable salaries, and performance. The salary is confirmed periodically and performance is continually reviewed by the board. The salary was set at significantly less than competitive rates. The CEO sets the salaries for others after discussions as part of the annual budgeting process and in line with organization's equitable pay scales. "Payscale" compensation analysis is also performed for the CFO of the organization.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, line 19

All governing documents are made available to the public upon request. Financial information is also posted on the Organization's website.

IRS990/Desc0Advocacy, Education & MLE Program Services:Advocacy - To create meaningful impact that lasts, Days for Girls pursues advocacy work that shifts social norms and creates more supportive policy environments for menstruators worldwide. From campaigning and capacity-building to cultivating strategic partnerships, our advocacy efforts are critical to shifting the menstrual health space in a way that stands the test of time. One of our main advocacy initiatives in 2024 was the Period Positive Workplace Campaign (PPW). This initiative advances menstrual equality at work by galvanizing private sector support and encouraging companies to become PPWs that 1) provide period products in or near workplace bathrooms 2) meet WHO's global water, sanitation, and hygiene standards. 3) inform employees via a formal notice that period products are and will continue to be provided. We have 270 PPW-certified workplaces reaching 244,558 employees globally. In 2024, we conducted research on the impact of the PPW and published this report, and held a webinar to share the findings. We also gathered and published testimonials from PPW-certified businesses: AIRAC & FENCOOP, Dignifica Tu Vida, Slum Soccer, Lunette, Humanity & Inclusion, OVO, and Egal (Pads on Roll) (coalition partner). In 2024, we also conducted activities as thought leaders in the MH field. Including the following:- Publishing articles and resources, including "Exploring the Environmental Footprint of Period Products", "Mapping Menstrual Leave in 2024: One Year Since Spain's Implementation", and Canada MH Country Snapshot.- Active participants on the following Coalitions: Reproductive Health Supply Coalition; Global Menstrual Collective; Self-Care Trailblazers Group; Toilet Board Coalition; Period Positive Workplace; African Coalition for Menstrual Healthcare; South Africa Coalition for MH; National Coalition to End Period Poverty; US MH Emergency Relief Coalition; International Organization for Standardization (ISO) ISO US TC338; ISO US TC283- Attended/present at the following conferences: - UNCSW, DfG CEO presented at an UNCSW NGO session. - UNGA (attended and helped host a side event along with WASH United, WaterAID, and UNICEF) - ISSA Clean Advocacy Summit (attended) - Cambodian National Consultation for the programme, "Hidden in Plain Sight: Ending Child Early and Forced Marriage in Southeast Asia" (attended) - 2024 US Conference on Poverty & Basic Needs, Chicago, IL (presented) - School Health Conference, Siem Reap, co-hosted by MoEYS and UNFPA Cambodia (Presented) - SA Department of Basic Education Seminar (participated on a panel) - DfG USA Conference (3 presentations)Education - Days for Girls' menstrual health education aims to improve access to comprehensive, timely, and age-appropriate menstrual health education. While others in the MH field focus exclusively on girls, DfG brings tailored, culturally specific education both to women and girls and boys and men-who are key allies for change. By taking a community approach, DfG establishes long-lasting allies and environments of menstrual health support. DfG education: 1. Increases knowledge of puberty, menstruation, and reproduction (females and males)2. Increases confidence in managing menstruation (females)3. Increases confidence in discussing puberty and menstruation with others (females and males)4. creates positive shifts in attitudes surrounding puberty and menstruation (females and males, including decreased shame and embarrassment)5. creates positive shifts in menstrual experiences after receiving a DfG washable pad (females)DfG menstrual health education curriculum is delivered as a stand-alone activity and alongside the distribution of DfG Washable Pad Kits. It opens life-changing conversations about dignity and self-worth. It is where we celebrate women and girls and change the narrative from shame to empowerment. DfG menstrual health curricula consists of eight modules of sexual and reproductive health topics coverin
