“Since filing our last Form 990, we have amended our bylaws to conform to current best practices in not-for-profit governance. These revisions were unanimously voted into effect by the Board. In addition, several other corporate governance documents were created, including a Code of Conduct, revised Committee Charters, and an Employee Handbook. Wherever Board votes were necessary to effectuate the new or revised documents they have been taken and have been unanimous.”

These include everything from medical care and low- income housing to culturally specific clothing and ethnic foods. Search results automatically include a map with directions to the location and the associated website and phone number, drastically increasing the awareness and accessibility of resources in both urban and rural areas. Our website also offers basic information to help newcomers understand and adjust to life in America. The RCO's website had over 65,000 users in 2016.

These courses can be translated into newcomer languages, and as online resources, can be taken anywhere at any time: on bus rides to-and-from work or after getting children to bed. The RCO also offers a professional development course that trains educators how to work with refugee youth in their classrooms. Over 1,000 newcomers used the RCO's online courses in 2016.
