A pair of projectsin the city's Casto District highlighted the 40th anniversary of Harvey Milk's historic election as Calfornia's first openly gay publicly elected official. BOth "Harvey's Halo" and "Hope Will Never Be Silent" were unveiled in front of thousands on NOv. 8, 2017. Illuminate's historic lighting of the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park returned for a second season witha new presentation. Thousands witnessed the return, which continued nightly throughout the year.
