“Directors must openly disclose a potential, real or perceived conflict of interest to a member of the governance committee as soon as the issue arises and before the board or its committees make any decisions which involve a potential conflict. If there is any question of doubt about the existence of a real or perceived conflict, the governance committee will determine by majority vote if a conflict exists. The person potentially in conflict shall be absent from the discussion and vote. Each director, principal officer and member of a committee with board- delegated powers shall annually sign a statement which affirms that such person: a)has received a copy of the conflicts of interest policy; b)has read and understand the policy; c)has agreed to comply with the policy; and d)understands that bioconnect iowa is a charitable organization and that in order to maintain its federal tax exemption it must engage primarily in activities that accomplish one or more of its tax-exempt purposes.”

“In 2020 bioconnect iowa (formerly iowa innovation corporation) was awarded a 525,000 federal grant from the us economic development administration, as part of their build to scale program. The iowa g2m program officially commenced october 1st, 2020 with the first intake into the accelerator program commencing in january 2021. The second intake will commence early 2022. The program provides "follow-on" support for entrepreneurs who have completed one of the growing number of accelerator programs in the state but who need additional support to increase their likelihood of commercial success. The accelerator program is run by isu startup factory personnel and is run remotely/via zoom. The iowa g2m accelerator program provides entrepreneurs with resources, connections, and guidance which furthers bioconnect iowa's mission to further the overall development and economic well-being of the state of iowa.”
