To raise private funds for the expansion and state-of-the-art renovation of hopkinton public library. In addition to the $4.5 million grant awarded to the town of hopkinton by the mass board of library commissioners, private funds raised by hopkinton public library foundation will defray the town's cost of restoring, renovating and expanding the library's historic building. With the opening of this historic project in october 2017, hplf will carry on its mission of supporting the library by funding resources, technology, educational and special projects, and long term improvements to the library. Hplf's fundraising efforts will seek to bridge the gap between the community's aspirations for its library and the usual or customary funding available from municipal budgets. Working in partnership with the library, as well as the supporting organizations of the trustees and friends of the library, the foundation encourages continued and increased support of the hopkinton public library.
The principal activities of the corporation shall be for the purpose of expanding, renovating, upgrading and enhancing the property of the hopkinton public library, as well as sustaining and enriching the quality of the library's services, resources, materials and program.
