Ivertown parks group the overtown parks group is a group of overtown residents and community partners that have joined together to form a new subcommittee of the overtown children and youth committee (ocyc), called, overtown healthy parks & public spaces community group, or "overtown parks group for short. Urban health partnerships (uhp) and catalyst miami are supporting the facilitation of the group, bringing together people who are interested in helping to improve overtown parks" ability to provide health spaces and activities. The overtown parks group is focused on advancing community-driven solutions, programs and policies that improve and bring investment into overtown parks. The parks already serve as key places for people to gather for recreation, for exercise, and to access occasional services like food distributions, health fairs, and support services. B. In community the in community initiative, a project led by uhp and funded by the national institute of health aims to improve health outcomes particularly within the lgbtq+ community in miami-dade county through community engagement and partnerships focusing on improved healthcare access and overall quality of life. C miami-dade county age friendly initiative the miami-dade age-friendly initiative(afi) is a collaborative effort focused on sustainable changes and efforts in order to create a community where older adults of all ages can stay active, engaged, and lealthy with dignity and enjoyment. Miami-dade county recently joined the aarp network of age-friendly communities, making it the fifth-largest community in the country to join the network. Guided by the miami-dade age-friendly initiative the community has been implementing a collective impact framework to meet the needs of older adults since 2012.”
