Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
We received in kind donations of new clothing for the families and children we serve that are transitioning from homelessness and extremely poverty, at or below 50% ami federal poverty levels. Our organization received a $10k monthly increase of in-kind grant support for advertising, program promotions and fundraising services to support our goals to help rebuild communities nationwide that are in rural, remote areas currently experiencing homelessness, or significantly at risk of becoming homelessness. We serve as the liaison for these populations for community connections to resources for housing placement, education, skills training, and crisis/disaster assistance.$52,640$52,640
Crisis Financial Assistance: To program participants and communities that are low-income, at risk of becoming homeless or experiencing homelessness, our agency was able to provide 15 households with one time emergency payments for rent to prevent evictions, deposits to secure primary residence; and 12 households to prevent disconnections or regain utility services due to utilities arrears due. Supplemental groceries to these sheltered families were supplied, in addition to seasonal clothing assistance for their children, aged newborn to 12-years old.$18,000$18,000
Food Security. Our organization continues to successfully provide street outreach and navigation through our food distribution programs to reach communities that would otherwise go unserved due to homelessness and extreme poverty. We received an equipment grant to purchase a larger freezer and pallet jacks. Our Feeding Families Hope Food Pantries reached a milestone to be able to increase the number of seniors/elderly persons we serve monthly that were experiencing food insecurity and at risk of homelessness. This effort allowed our team to identify more of the elderly that were homeless, at risk of becoming homeless and/or that needed to be connected with our community partners for additional assistance with monthly expenses, home repairs, medical equipment or health issues. Our Meals on Wheels for the Homeless program enabled our team to distribute 14,000 pounds of food. There were 240 bags monthly of personal items with community resources & referrals in Georgia; and 150 bags monthly of personal items with community resources & referrals in Florida.$8,100$12,300
Education Program: Our Client Progression Program assisted participants in either one on one, or group sessions to acquire job skills certifications, gain capacity building and life skills through supportive services that include financial literacy, tenant education, and mental wellness. Our scholarship program awarded three one-time higher education scholarships for single parents.$3,835$3,835
Housing Program: A Grateful Mind received 2 new Home Hosts to provide Transitional Housing to our program participants emerging from homelessness as our team worked with participants along their paths of self-sufficiency, to increase their income and acquire permanent/long-term housing. Access to new transitional units allowed our organization to save on temporary motel/hotel stay fees. Our agency continues to make strides in providing referrals to connect individuals and families with children through to housing partners nationwide to aid in ending homelessness.$3,200$3,200
Through an additional component of our outreach, during the 2nd and 3rd quarters of the year our agency assisted 25 individuals in acquiring their personal documents: state ID's, birth certificates and social security cards that are required to secure housing and mainstream benefits they may be eligible for.$1,200$1,200

ReasonableCauseExplanation/ExplanationTxt0Please pardon our delayed submission. Our filing is late because the primary accountant/bookkeeper at the accounting firm that has completed our returns for over a decade became ill and is now deceased. We were told that our filings would continue timely with a new accountant and only upon requesting a copy of this return were we told it was not filed yet.
