“Since the prior form 990 filing, the corporation amended and restated their articles of incorporation and bylaws to include two changes. The first change was to paragraph 2 of the articles of incorporation and article i of the bylaws in relation to the corporation's purpose. The following language is included in the updated documents: the corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, which purposes shall be limited to operating for the support and benefit of, and enhancing and enriching the services, programs, and facilities of delta dental of virginia, a virginia nonstock corporation, which is exempt from federal income taxation pursuant to section 501(c)(4) of the code. The foregoing purposes shall be fulfilled through developing resources that support the dental helath care mission of the delta dental of virginia within virginia and fostering dental health education and dental health care in underserved areas of virginia. The second change was to paragrahp 6 of the articles of incorporation and article ii of the bylaws in relation to the minimum and maximum number of directors of the corporation. The minimum number of directors was increased from 3 to 5 and the maximum increased from 7 to 11. There were no other changes to the corporation's organizational documents.”
