IRS990/Desc0The 2019 Young Innovators Quest Summer Program was offered at IUPUI and Alivio Medical Center. Our outstanding high school students interested in STEM (science, technology,engineering, and mathmatetics) participated alongside 5 undergraduate students. This programoffered the following experiences among others: science and engineering research, direct exposureto a variety of professional careers, innovation projects, and exposure to the college experience.A typical day at YiQ provided the stuents with a combination of two to four STEM and work-realted skills workshops, 2-3 hours of team research and project development, 1-2 hours of socialand recreational activities, and occasionaly an industry visit field trip was provided. Studentsworked in teams of 3-4 to identify a challenging problem and to develop an innovative product orsolution. Students were guided by mentors and creativity and innovation workshops like, "What isInnovation." In this activity they learned about the different stages of innovation and through thisactivity they learned how to apply concepts and develop teamwork skills.The STEM related ativities that the students participated in, included hands-on workshops in labsafety, forensics, biology, genetics, creativity, innovation, neurology, desgin, scientificpresentations, pharmaceutics, and engineering. During industry visits, students we able to see howproductions like medicines, truck engines, and prototypes and designed and produced. During eachvisit students were given the opportunity to meet and interact with professionals and executivesfrom different fields and companies.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0The IDEAA Partnership is a Health & Science Innovations workforce development initiative, and a cross-sector partnership dedicated to the implementation of a comprehensive pipeline that attracts and prepares new talent to meet the needs of employers with engineering, prototyping, and manufacturing operations; through hands-on workshops, courses, certification curriculum, credentialing, project based learning and practice opportunities. Partners include DirectEmployers Institute, CAE-net.com, First Maker Space, and Maker Youth Foundation. This initiative is supported by industry partners and philanthropic individuals who invest in education and workforce development. After graduating from the IDEAA Summer Program, students will be eligible for various internship opportunities provided by industry partners throughout Central Indiana. All IDEAA Summer Program Graduates can count on the guidance and support of Health & Science Innovations during their academic career, and are regularly invited to STEM and social events throughout the year. The IDEAA Partnership provides multiple Design & Rapid Prototyping (DRP) Programs, Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Courses, an IDEAA Summer Program, and various design and prototyping workshops each year. The IDEAA Summer Program serves 25 high school aged students annually.The IDEAA Partnership serves 125 students annually.
