Ocn's board of directors and officer(s) are required to review and sign ocn's written conflict of interest policy annually. As part of on boarding, new board members are also provid ed a copy of the oregon office of the attorney general's guide to nonprofit board service in oregon, which includes guidance on conflicts and a board member's duty of loyalty. In the past year, new board members who are also local casa program directors were directly cautioned about the potential conflicts inherent in service on ocn's board and duty of loyalty to ocn. Board members are encouraged to self-identify any potential conflict of interest. When a potential conflict arises, the board member typically abstains from voting on the matter.
