“The purpose of this organization is to connect individuals over the age of 50(seniors) with services in the community. The corporation is entirely run by volunteers. In addition to helping seniors find services, seniors are helped to find volunteer service opportunities with local non-profits, and offered senior classes to help with computer skills, exercise and life writing. The organization also offers a free caregivers support group and parkinson's support group. These support groups provide individuals and familties with encouragement to help them understand and cope with the disease process. In the future, the organization hopes to expand services to seniors to help with financial planning, insurance education, health and cooking, theater, fit over 50, social networking and other technological skills, art, brain fitness, etc.”

“There were 128 participating students and made referrals to a host of community agencies, averaging about 10 referrals per week with follow-up phone calls to agencies and elders seeking services. There were 15 volunteer teachers and 8 volunteer office staff.”
