“It is the mission of, love from louie, to remove dogs that are suffering physically and emotionally inside the shelter system and provide them with complete medical care and a nurturing home environment to heal and rehabilitate before being placed up for adoption. Love from louie also accommodates several dogs annually that are deemed "hospice," dogs with veterinary oversight and the necessary medications to provide a comfortable and loving final life chapter.”

Love from louie has developed a reputation for taking on dogs that have been deemed unadaptable or unable to survive in an incarcerated setting due to injury, illness, or advanced age. Love from louie often provides extensive, lifesaving veterinary care for dogs that would otherwise not survive. Love from louie averages approximately thirty medical interventions annually. Dogs that have made a medical recovery, or dogs that can maintain a comfortable quality of life if supported medically with veterinary supervision, are placed up for adoption. We accept owner- surrenders on a case-by-case basis.”

“Love from louie facilitates approximately 15 - 20 dog adoptions annually. We require applicants to have two personal references (if we don't know them personally), and an established relationship with the veterinarian office that has provided care for any past or current pets. The applicants' veterinary reference must be positive including all family pets to be current on necessary vaccines and preventative care at the time of the adoption.”
