“The form 990 is prepared by an accounting firm using financial statements and information provided by Connect2Culture's Executive Director and accountant. Prior to filing, it is reviewed by the Board President/CFO and Executive Director in collaboration with the CPA firm and presented to the full Connect2Culture Board for review.”

“Connect2Culture Conflict of Interest Policy Connect2Culture's conflict of interest policy applies to board members, immediate family members, staff, committee members, and volunteers. A conflict arises when an individual has a material personal interest, such as financial or ownership stakes, in a transaction involving Connect2Culture. Monitoring and Disclosure Board members must disclose conflicts of interest in writing before related discussions or decisions take place. They must abstain from voting, exerting personal influence, or being present during deliberations regarding the matter. All disclosures, abstentions, and decisions are documented in meeting minutes. Procedures A disinterested board member or knowledgeable party presents evidence supporting the transaction's fairness, such as competitive bids. Approval requires a majority vote of disinterested board members, constituting a quorum. Annual Disclosures and Reports Board members must complete an annual potential conflict report and affirm their understanding of the policy. The executive director oversees this process and ensures compliance. This policy ensures Connect2Culture operates transparently and in the best interest of the organization, avoiding potential conflicts before and after transactions occur.”

As Joplin's designated community arts agency, recognized by the Missouri Arts Council, Connect2Culture leads, supports, and promotes arts and cultural activity throughout the greater Joplin area and serves as a collective voice for more than 50 arts and cultural organizations. The organization strengthens the regional arts ecosystem through marketing support, collaborative initiatives, and community advocacy that increase public awareness of and access to the arts. Connect2Culture also serves as the area's performing arts presenter, delivering diverse, high-quality performances and educational programs featuring local, regional, national, and international artists for audiences of all ages. Through its leadership role and programming activities, Connect2Culture helps grow and sustain a vibrant arts community, encourages lifelong engagement in the arts, and expands cultural opportunities for residents and visitors across the region, including through its stewardship of performance and event spaces within the Harry M. Cornell Arts & Entertainment Complex.”

“In FY2025, Connect2Culture continued to strengthen Joplin's arts and cultural landscape through performance presentation, arts advocacy, and community collaboration. As Joplin's designated community arts agency, recognized by the Missouri Arts Council, Connect2Culture supported, promoted, and advocated for more than 50 local arts and cultural organizations, helping expand access to arts opportunities throughout the region. As a performing arts presenter, Connect2Culture delivered a diverse season of high-quality programming through its annual performance series and special events. During the fiscal year, Connect2Culture presented 26 varied performances and served approximately 6,500 community members and visitors. The organization also advanced its educational mission by hosting 9 educational performances that reached more than 2,650 students. Through these activities, Connect2Culture contributed to regional cultural vitality, community engagement, and ongoing collaboration among area arts partners.”
