“The classes of membership are 1. Fellow-in-training:this membership is open to doctors during their interventional cardiology fellowship and is free. 2. Fellow membership is open to doctors worldwide who are sponsored by an active fscai or mscai. This membership type can be achieved by an adult interventionalist pathway, pediatric interventionalist pathway, interventional imaging physician pathway or a non-clinical pathway. 3. Masters of scai are distinguished fellows of scai and are given the mscai credential. These members need to have been a member in good standing for ten years and a minimum of twenty years of post-training professional experience in the field. 4. International associate is based outside of the us and doesn't meet the requirements to become an fscai. 5. Member is a physician with certification by an appropriate board (internal medicine, radiology etc.) who has undertaken appropriate training in cardiac or endovascular angiography and intervention. Member (scientist) is inclusive of researchers in the field of cardiac and/or endovascular angiography and/or interventions and are actively working in the field and have a doctorate or equivalent. 6. Cardiovascular professional is a non-physician working in the specialty of cardiac and/or endovascular angiography and/or interventions.”

“The nature of the rights for the foundation's fellow, senior fellow, mscai, members and international associate members are as follows: fellow - shall be eligible to vote, to serve on committees, and to serve as a trustee and officer. Each fellow of the foundation shall be entitled to one (1) vote. At each annual meeting, fellows shall elect a president, a president-elect, a vice president, a secretary and a treasurer, and may elect such other officers and assistant officers as may be deemed necessary or advisable. Senior fellow - shall be eligible to vote and to serve on committees but may not serve as a trustee or officer. Each senior fellow of the foundation shall be entitled to one (1) vote. At each annual meeting, senior fellows shall elect a president, a president-elect, a vice president, a secretary and a treasurer, and may elect such other officers and assistant officers as may be deemed necessary or advisable. Mscai (master interventionalist) have the right to vote, the right to serve as trustees and officers and the right to serve and vote on committees. Members - shall be eligible to serve and vote on committees but may not serve as trustees or officers. Each member of the foundation shall be entitled to one (1) vote at the annual meeting and other meetings of members. At each annual meeting, members shall elect a president, a president-elect, a vice president, a secretary and a treasurer, and may elect such other officers and assistant officers as may be deemed necessary or advisable. International associate members have the right to vote, the right to serve as trustee and officer and the right to serve and vote on committees.”

“The federal form 990 is prepared by cbiz advisors, llp and reviewed for accuracy by the association's chief executive director, vice president of finance & administration. A copy of the final return is sent to the board of director's executive committee before it is filed with the internal revenue service.”

“The association is rigorous in the enforcement of policies that relate to potential conflicts of interest (coi). The organization makes its policies on the reporting of coi consistently clear to all physician volunteers who serve as faculty or engage in business on behalf of the organization. Each volunteer who participates in planning or as faculty is required to disclose all conflicts. If conflicts are considered to be relevant, they are resolved through an unbiased review process. All relevant conflicts for planners and faculty are disclosed as part of the given program. In addition, the organization maintains clear consistent policies on staff and volunteer expense reimbursement and provision of honoraria for speaking engagements and distributes those policies to all volunteers prior to their engagement in any organization related business. Last, the organization takes careful note to maintain strict compliance with all applicable guidelines and regulations, especially as they relate to the gaap, accme, ama and other regulatory bodies.”
