The object of C.A.R.E. shall be to reduce the burden of cancer in Appalachia and rural communities by providing 1)culturally competent health care and health education, 2)educating health care professionsals about the distinct cultural and health care needs of these communities, and 3)researching, planning, implementing and evaluating effective health interventions to achieve health equity in cancer education, screening, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.
