US Speedskating's exempt purpose is to promote speedskating in the United States and succeed athletically at international competitions. US speedskating's mission is to be one of the premier speedskating organizations in the world through excellence in leadership, development and performance. We are primarily focused on training and development of elite athletes for international competition including the Winter Olympic Games.US Speedskating is also responsible for the grassroots development of speedskating. The association supports athlete development camps as well as coaching and officiating educational training across the country. It also funds the production of promotional speedskating materials including training tapes and development materials. US Speedskating is a member of the US Olympic Committee (USOC) and the International Skating Union.

Mission

US Speedskating's exempt purpose is to promote speedskating in the United States and succeed athletically at international competitions. US speedskating's mission is to be one of the premier speedskating organizations in the world through excellence in leadership, development and performance. We are primarily focused on training and development of elite athletes for international competition including the Winter Olympic Games.US Speedskating is also responsible for the grassroots development of speedskating. The association supports athlete development camps as well as coaching and officiating educational training across the country. It also funds the production of promotional speedskating materials including training tapes and development materials. US Speedskating is a member of the US Olympic Committee (USOC) and the International Skating Union.

We are us speedskating, a family inspired by our olympic legacy, committed to growing our sport, developing character through our shared values, and achieving international competitive success on ice. From pond to podium, we envision a sport where all ages can experience the thrill of speed and the camaraderie of the skating community.

“The organization has individual and organizational categories of membership. Those individuals who satisfy requirements for membership and pay the full membership fee are considered full members and have the right to vote in elections for directors. Lifetime members are considered full members. Classifications within the full members include elite athlete, world team/olympian athlete and coach for those who meet the requirements. Full members who are at least 16 years of age are eligible to vote in the chosen classification and the general member category. For those full members who are under age 16 there is a process for families with two or more full members under age 16 to apply for a vote on behalf of the full members. The organizational categories of membership are us speedskating association and registered club.”
