The organization collects security deposits from its resident tenants that are refunded/retained at the time the tenant moves out depending upon whether there are outstanding charges owed by the tenant.

The organization has implemented financial accounting standardes board interpretation no. Fin 48, accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. Management evaluates the organizations tax positions annually for any potential changes or issues that may result in uncertainty in the accounting for income taxes. As of february 29, 2016 and 2015, management believes the organizations tax status to be that of a not-for-profit corporation. The organization did not record any interest or penalities related to taxes owed in the statements of activities or statements of financial position as of and during the years ended february 29, 2016 and 2015. Tax returns filed for the years ended february 28, 2013 through 2015 remain subject to examination by the internal revenue service.
