The board members are required to disclose conflicts of interest according to this policy. Section 8. Director's conflict of interest. A conflict of interest will be presumed in any transaction involving the corporation and a director in which the director has a material interest. A material interest will be presumed in any transaction from which the director would receive a fee, commission, bonus, or other financial renumeration, whether direct or indirect, except for his or her salary or wage as an employee. In advance of any such transaction, the board of directors or the executive committee may approve the proposed transaction upon a full disclosure of the material facts, and upon a belief that the transaction is in good faith and is not unfair to the corporation. If such a transaction comes to light after it has already taken place, the board shall obtain the approval of the transaction by the missouri attorney general, or by the circuit court of greene county in an action in which the attorney general is joined as a party. IS TO SERVE AS A "HOME AWAY FROM HOME" FOR FAMILIES WITH SERIOUSLY ILL OR INJURED CHILDREN RECEIVING MEDICAL CARE IN SPRINGFIELD. SINCE OPENING OUR FIRST HOUSE NEAR COX SOUTH HOSPITAL ON MARCH 20, 1988 AND OUR SECOND LOCATION INSIDE MERCY KIDS ON NOVEMBER 30, 2012 WE'VE WELCOMED MORE THAN 16,500 FAMILIES DURING THEIR MOST DIFFICULT TIMES. IN 2024 ALONE, 753 FAMILIES FOUND REFUGE THROUGH OVERNIGHT AND DAYTIME-ONLY SUPPORT. THROUGH OUR MEALS FROM THE HEART PROGRAM, FAMILIES WERE ALSO SERVED 16,380 WARM DINNERS IN 2024, OFFERING BOTH NOURISHMENT AND COMPASSION DURING THEIR STAYS.

SERVING CHILDREN WHO QUALIFY FOR FREE OR REDUCED-PRICE SCHOOL LUNCHES, THE TOOTH TRUCK PROVIDES TREATMENT AND EDUCATION AT NO COST, REGARDLESS OF MEDICAID STATUS. SINCE ITS FIRST DAY ON THE ROAD, JULY 8, 2002, THE TOOTH TRUCK HAS DELIVERED OVER 70,000 DENTAL APPOINTMENTS TO MORE THAN 34,000 CHILDREN, WITH CARE VALUED AT NEARLY $26 MILLION. IN 2024 ALONE, THE TOOTH TRUCK PROVIDED 3,077 DENTAL APPOINTMENTS FOR 2,017 CHILDREN, DELIVERING MORE THAN $2.15 MILLION IN CARE. OUR COMMITMENT TO LONG-TERM IMPACT INCLUDES THE HEALTHY SMILES ACADEMY, A DAILY TOOTHBRUSHING PROGRAM THAT BEGAN IN 2011 AND WAS REINSTATED IN FALL 2023 AFTER A COVID-RELATED PAUSE.
