Form 990, Part VI, Line 2: Description of Business or Family Relationship of Officers, Directors, Et

Laura wallace, donna sparks, and grace garland are sisters who are all secretaries in the st louis office.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 4: Description of Significant Changes to Organizational Documents

There were four bylaw changes during the fiscal year:change number one: is that that the resolutions committee shall research, outline, and present a resolutions document for adoption at the spring session of the respresentative assembly.change number two: is that the mnea aspiring educator council shall consist of the officers of the mnea aep and one member elected from each college/university campus with ten or more members as of january 15th of each membership year. Council members shall be elected prior to the spring representative assembly by electronic vote. Change number three: is that membership dues for active professional members will be based on the average instructor salary in each district as derived from the core data collected by the department of elementary and secondary education categorized into four tiers. Beginning in the 2023-2024, annual dues increase will be based on the changes to the annual cpi-w, as produced by the u.s. Bureau statistics, for the month of august of the preceding year. Dues increases will be assessed at $2.00 for every 1% increase in the cpi-w. Board approval will be required for any dues above $6.00. Membership dues for active professional members who are regularly employed for fifty percent or less of the normal daily schedule of a full-time employee, verified by the local affiliate, shall be fifty percent of the active professional membership dues. The average instructor salaries and the tiered dues structure will be certified by the board of directors prior to the development of the program budget using the core data from the most recently completed school year. Membership dues for active education and support professional shall be sixty percent of the highest tier of active professional member dues. The representative assembly may vote additional one-year assessments to the dues. No dues will increase by more than $10 over the previous year and no annual dues amount will be reduced from the previous year. Membership dues for persons not otherwise specified by the bylaws shall be sent annually by the missouri nea board of directors. Change number four: is that section 5 dues transmittal and enforcement procedures will be deleted to align with current mnea practice.

Members are employees of public education and there are two classes of membership - active professional (teachers) and active esp (support professionals - bus drivers, janitors, cooks, secretaries, etc.)

The president, vice president, nea directors, and mnea board members are elected by the representative assembly which is a body of members elected by each local affiliate.

For officers: the mnea vice president serves as the mnea conflict of interest officer and is responsible for implementation of the policy. The officer monitors the implementation of the policy and makes periodic reports to the mnea executive committee. Mnea officials are required to consult with the ci officer if he/she believes she is involved or is about to be involved in an activity that would cause a conflict.for employees: the mnea chief financial officer serves as the conflict of interest officer (ci)and is responsible for the implementation of the ci policy. Employees are required to consult with the ci officer if they are involved or are about to be involved in a conflict.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 15B: Compensation Review and Approval Process for Officers and Key Employees

Compensation for key employees is based on union contracts. Compensation for executive director is based on comparative data with other exec directors in other nea affiliates. The exec director salary is reviewed by the mnea board annually. The president and vice pres salaries are governed by mnea bylaws.
