Market research programs: the paint and decorating retailers association provides its members with several market research studies. The pulse report is a free members quarterly market report that covers topics such as "consumer confidence" information, "new housing starts" information, and "used home sales" information. The pulse report also tracks the independent paint and decorating retailers sales in the following categories: paint, wallcoverings, window coverings, floor coverings, and sundries. In addition, the pulse report also tracks these categories from quarter-to-quarter and year-to-year and breaks them down by 5 united states regions and canada. The paint and decorating retailers association publishes a free annual report called: paint, wallcoverings and sundries industry report. This study covers all aspects of the paint and decorating industry to include sales, number of retail stores by category, numbers of gallons of paint sold by category, wallcovering sales, survey results from paint and decorating retailers association forms, and sundry products market reports by brand name and product category. This report generally has 25-30 pages.
