“At the annual meeting of members, the persons receiving the majority of the votes cast shall be directors and shall constitute the board of directors for the ensuing year.”

“Treasurer and general manager review with the accountant. Draft then passed onto the internal committee for review and approval before filing. All board members are given a draft copy of the form 990 to review and discuss prior to approval and filing.”

“The policy requires individuals to disclose any direct or indirect financial interests they may have in transactions or arrangements under consideration. Once disclosed, the board or relevant committee will determine whether a conflict of interest exists. If a conflict is found, the interested individual must recuse themselves from discussions and votes related to the matter. The organization must also explore whether a more advantageous transaction is possible without involving the conflicted party. Additionally, each year, all covered individuals must affirm in writing that they have received, read, and agree to abide by the policy. If someone fails to disclose a conflict, the board may take appropriate disciplinary action.”

“Recharge our imaginative, intuitive, emotional core, and rekindle our shared consciousness. Projects include full productions of plays (both new and previously produced), fully staged book-in-hand productions, readings that employ minimal movement and staging, and experimental workshops for members of the theater community, with special emphasis on engaging students in the greater washington dc area.”

“In the fall of 2023, we produced the brazilian queer fable agreste, directed by studio associate artistic director danilo gambini, which generated 6 helen hayes award nominations. In the spring, we produced frontieres sans frontieres by phillip howze, a satire about international development, in partnership with the georgetown collaborative for global childrens issues. This show received a helen hayes recommended status and played to 90% attendance. We also produced the first english-language reading of the new play eisenstein by mikhail durnenkov, an exploration of the artists role in time of oppression, followed by a panel discussion about free speech with a journalist from voice of america and yuri kordonsky, co-chair of the yale school of drama. Over the year, we received a capitol projects grant to make our performance space wheelchair-accessible and restarted our elementary school education program.”
