Mission and Program Overview

Mission

To promote, enhance, and serve the interests of local workforce investment agencies and system partners in the state of iowa. Aiwp represents the regions which administer the federal workforce investment act (wia) program, as well as other federal, state and local workforce development initiatives across iowa. Aiwp was established in 2000 and currently has sixteen member organizations.

The association of iowa workforce partners is a statewide organization of regional workforce innovation and opportunity act (wioa) partners that provide specialized workforce services to iowans, including hard-to-place, at-risk, low-income adults, low-income youth, and dislocated and unemployed individuals. The mission of aiwp is to advance the quality and availiablity of workforce services in iowa through education, advocacy, and professional development. Aiwp advances its mission through a day on the hill, a quarterly newsletter, an annual professional development conference, and regular wioa director training and support.
