Crisis intervention & advocacy center is an advocacy program designed to respond to victims of domestic abuse, sexual assualt, stalking, dating violence, and homelessness in adair, adams, clarke, dallas, decatur, guthrie, madison, ringgold, taylor, & union counties. The center offers a safe, supportive, non-judgemental environment in which victims/survivors can receive support, explore options, set priorities, and make decisions as they begin their healing journey. The center's philosophy is to empower victims/survivors to claim or take back their right to make their own decisions. This includes the right to remain in their home, receive services that are empathetic and respectful, and the right to determine their own needs. All services provided are free, voluntary, confidential, and available to all without discrimination. All services are available in english and spanish.

The standard of behavior at the organization is that all staff members, volunteers, and board members scrupulously avoid any conflict between the interersts of ciac on one hand, and personal, professional, and business interests on the other. This includes avoiding actual conflicts of interest, as well as the appearance of conflicts of interest. Upon or before election, hiring, or appointment, a full written disclosure of interests, activities, relationships, and holdings that could potentially result in a conflict of interest is shared with ciac and staff sign a conflict of interest policy.

The executive committee is responsible for the following: developing, recommending and reviewing personnel policies; job descriptions and practices, in conjunction with the director; approving salary ranges and scales for all employed staff and recruiting the director. TRAINED ADVOCATES PROVIDE ACUTE CRISIS RESPONSE, LONG TERM ADVOCACY AND EXPLORE HEALING OPPORTUNITIES FOR VICTIMS, SECONDARY VICTIMS, AND COMMUNITIES. THROUGH THIS WORK THE AGENCY RAISES AWARENESS AND INCREASES COMMUNITY CAPACITY TO SUPPORT VICTIMS OF CRIME.

THE CENTER OFFERS A SAFE, SUPPORTIVE, NON-JUDGEMENTAL ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH VICTIMS/SURVIVORS CAN RECEIVE SUPPORT, EXPLORE OPTIONS, SET PRIORITIES, AND MAKE DECISIONS AS THEY BEGIN THEIR HEALING JOURNEY. THE CENTER'S PHILOSOPHY IS TO EMPOWER VICTIMS/SURVIVORS TO CLAIM OR TAKE BACK THEIR RIGHT TO MAKE THEIR OWN DECISIONS. THIS INCLUDES THE RIGHT TO REMAIN IN THEIR HOME, RECEIVE SERVICES THAT ARE EMPATHETIC AND RESPECTFUL, AND THE RIGHT TO DETERMINE THEIR OWN NEEDS.
