“Each member is a member of a regional group and the state association. Members elect delegates to serve as the governing body from their region and also at-large.”

“Members can nomiate a delegate from their region and at-large to represent them. The nominees are voted on by the region and state membership. These delegates make up the Board of Directors who have voting rights for association bi-law changes and approval of contracts issued.”

“All board minutes are published in the bi-monthly newsletter and each member has a right to question any proceedings of the meetings.”

“No documents are available to the public except those published in the newspaper or directory.”

“Compensation is approved by the Board of directors. Currently, only the Secretary / Treasurer is a compensated position and board members determine their compensation in a private meeting without the compensated officer present.”

“Once board has approved the compensation, a contract is drawn up outlining the commission base and any set fees the officer or employee will receive each year.”

“All changes to governing documents and policies are published in the newspaper and/or directories that are distrubted to members and general public. Financial statements are available at each meeting. A copy of the form 990 is reviewed by the president secretary and treasurer before the return is filed. Any member can request from the president secretary or treasurer to see a copy of any documents.”
