Contract services - community and facility basedgoodwill industries creates employment and job-training opportunities for people who have significant disabilities or other challenges to employment by providing contract work for businesses; federal, state and local government; and other community partners. These contracts offer opportunities in a variety of work experience and training environments, including custodial services, document destruction, recycling, mailing services, switchboard operations and other administrative support services.

Activity 3

Workforce development program servicesindividuals achieve greater levels of self-sufficiency and economic success through goodwill's family strenghtening and workforce development services - such as employment training and education, work experience, employment retention services, and youth-based programs. Goodwill programs strenghten communities and families and promote independence and dignity for people who need it most.basic services were provided to 9,661 individuals in 2012. These services are "soft touch" in nature and usually provided without case management including such things as store vouchers, service learning projects, thanksgiving dinner, christmas shoe and mitten parties, samaritan fund distributions, and hud apartment residencies.intensive services were provided to 376 individuals in 2012. These services encompass education and career services with a case manager or direct service worker assigned to each participant with services delivered over an extended period of time. Maintenance and enhancement of skills or independent functioning level, or maintenance of employment is the expected result of programs and services in this category. This area of service also includes extended sheltered employment, medicaid waiver programs, and five sessions of week-long summer camp where the participants receive social development skills.placement focused services were provided to 222 individuals in 2012. These services have an expected outcome of job placement through job development and direct job placement programs, as well as temporary placement services and pre-placement phases of supported employment services. A case manager or direct service worker is assigned to each individual participating in placement focused programs and services.
