PART III, LINE 28 - AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION - 1. The company employs an ag in the classroom coordinator who is very active in all the schools in our county. All teachers in our county were provided with a list of programs and activities prior to the school year at the teacher appreciation grill out provided by the company. The teachers let the coordinator know what programs and activities they would like to participate in. Throughout the entire year the coordinator interacted with over 3,500 students and visited classrooms 287 times. A few major activities that the coordinator was involved in were the Best Farmer Contest and 2019 Ag Day. During the Best Farmer Contest the coordinator interacts with over 600 students and 34 different classrooms and during Ag day the coordinator interacted with over 150 students. The coordinator also taught students about water sheds, cotton, animals, food, crops, and so much more. A board member of the company works with students via skype to teach different lessons on drones, cattle, and crop production. The company also works closely with FFA students at different events, projects, and provides them with advice on different career development events.

Other

PART III, LINE 29 - COMMUNITY PROMOTONS - 1. The company was very active in developing relationships in the community to bridge the rural/urban differences. As a sponsor of Charles City Chamber of Commerce "Party in the Park" event, the company provided volunteers that were actively engaged with over 200 community members showcasing the new Ag Mobile Learning Lab, which features a rainfall simulator to help show both farmers and non-farmers the different conservation practices to improve our water quality. The company also participated in precision ag day, which deals with teaching students in our county about precision Ag. The company was also involved in county fair activities, hosted a Farm to Fork event, and worked with local food banks to provide donations. At both events they worked with community members and students to provide different ag related information.

Other

PART III, LINE 30 - POLICY DEVELOPMENT - 1. The company has a very engaged board of directors and committee structure to develop policy and then implement those policies. Company members take pride in their process of inviting members to submit issues, which are important to agriculture. These ideas are filtered through a process, which ultimately allows our members to be actively involved and participate. The company's policy committee then evaluates the response and develops a draft resolution reflecting the members input. All members of the company were invited to a special policy meeting to discuss and amend (if desired) and adopt as official policy. The company's voting delegate then champions those resolutions at the annual statewide policy adoption conference. The organization then lobbies for enactment of polices, regulations, and laws to support those adopted resolutions. Success in this company is achieved by being actively engaged in activities at all levels of the government at all county, state, and national level. The company also invited a County Board of Supervisor, County Auditor, and County Assessor to different board meetings, they discussed current happenings at the county level and ways the company can continue to be involved.
