Activity 2: Contributions under agreement for the donor advised funds paid to nineteen 501(c)(3) organizations
Activity 3: During the year ended September 30, 2012, Courage Center's Board of Directors made a decision to contribute the camp operations to a mission-oriented organization and began discussions in that regard with Children's Disability Service Association/Friendship Ventures. Both organizations saw that the opportunity to share resources and plan as one collaborative entity versus two would strengthen our programs and better serve the community long into the future. In November 2012, Courage Center reached agreement with Friendship, and its affiliate Friendship Foundation, to transfer the camp assets (consisting primarily of real estate, equipment, and unspent and pledged camp contributions) net of camp liabilities of Courage Center and Courage Foundation, Inc. to the resulting new organization, initially called "Camps of Courage and Friendship".
