Eye & I Is an art and education organization supporting art and community education programs in Africa and the diaspora. In 2021 we began working on our first short film which was supported by the Museum of the African Diaspora. This project will create space to have conversations around decolonization and affirming identities of people of African descent. We are also in production with our first public mural project based in Newark NJ. This this is a collaboration with young women and non-binary people to promote positive identities within Newark. We are continuing to collaborate with the Nenneh Children Fund in Sierra Leone to sustain the arts in education project facilitating workshops so that young people will have the opportunity to build literacy and communication skills using the arts. Finally Eye & I publishing is slowly growing with our second artist publication Hala: An unexpected Gift.

Our on-going collaboration with the Nenneh Children School in Sierra Leone West Africa allows us to create curriculum provide professional development workshops for teachers and art workshops for students. This year we purchased new equipment and our lead educator principal Remi Saunders is currently in Sierra Leone working with the young people. Ms. Saunders spends half of the year on-location. This project supports approximately 150 students and 20 educators in Sierra Leone W. Africa.$15,000$15,470
For the first time we are engaging in a short film directed by our team titled "How Great is Our God" which will be featured in upcoming film festivals and at the Museum of the African Diaspora. This film is still in production and geared towards global audiences of African descent along with general art consumers. The goal is for viewers regardless of their race ethnicity to see Blackness extended beyond the stereotypical.$15,000$15,380
For the first time we are collaborating with Newark Arts Collaboration to create a public mural that will promote a positive identity community and equity with feminine and non-binary identities of African descent as the focus. This project is still in production as we are collaborating with young women and non-binary people from Newark. Installation is expected during the first quarter of 2022. This year we supported artist Orlee Malka's project centered around the Jewish Diaspora as well as the publication and distribution of the project Hala: An unexpected gift.
